The Bio

I'm Michael Beaver (he/him). I've been living on Chicago's North Side for over fifteen years and working in real estate long enough to have been inside hundreds of condos on this corridor. I know which buildings have healthy HOA reserves and which ones are one special assessment away from a problem. I know which blocks feel different in person than they do on Redfin. And I'll tell you all of it, whether it's what you want to hear or not.

Before real estate, I spent over a decade in higher education. I advised fraternities and sororities, ran a residence hall, and spent nine years in alumni relations coordinating events, managing boards, overseeing technology, and building relationships with people all over the country. None of that feels like a previous career to me. It feels like exactly the training I needed. Managing a real estate transaction requires the same things: communication, organization, the ability to keep twelve moving parts from falling apart at once, and knowing when to lead and when to listen.

I was a music major too. I think of my role the way a conductor thinks about an orchestra. I'm not playing every instrument. I'm making sure the lenders, attorneys, inspectors, and contractors are all moving together, on tempo, toward one result: yours.

I dig into the data. I don't just show you listings. I analyze what the market is actually doing in the specific building, on the specific block, in the specific price range you're looking at. I want you to make the best decision you can, and that requires real information, not a cheerful summary.

I'm a fierce advocate for fair housing. Every client I work with deserves to be treated with fairness and respect. That's not a policy I follow. It's something I believe in and will defend. If something doesn't feel right in a transaction, I'll say so.

I'm an avid learner. The market changes. The tools change. The rules change. I stay current because you deserve an agent who knows what's happening right now, not what was true three years ago.

You can be your actual self with me. I'm gay, I've lived this life, and I don't need you to perform anything. The more honest you are with me about what you need, what you're afraid of, and what you actually want, the better I can find you the home that fits. Don't sugarcoat it. I won't either.
