I moved to Chicago not knowing a single person. No family here. No connections. Just a gut feeling that this was the place. And from day one, this city opened its arms and said, “You’re one of us now.” Rogers Park took me in. The L became my second home. And every neighborhood I walked through taught me something new about what it means to belong somewhere.

That’s what makes Chicago different. It’s not one thing. It’s a hundred different cities packed into one — 77 neighborhoods, each with its own heartbeat. The tacos in Albany Park. The jazz in Bronzeville. The lakefront on a summer morning when the skyline looks like it was painted just for you. It’s messy and loud and beautiful and complicated. And it doesn’t ask you to be anything other than exactly who you are.

Chicago was first incorporated on March 4, 1837, and for several decades afterward became the fastest-growing city in the world. From about 4,000 residents at incorporation, the population exploded to over a million by 1890. It survived the Great Fire, rebuilt itself bigger and bolder, and never stopped reinventing. That’s the energy I try to bring to every single client I work with.
